Freeze & Pipe Prevention
Dear Carriage Hills Residents,
Dear Carriage Hills Residents,
As temperatures are expected to drop below freezing in the next couple of days, we ask all residents to take proactive steps to help prevent frozen or burst pipes, which can cause significant damage to homes and community property.
Please take the following precautions:
- Insulate exposed pipes, especially those located in garages, exterior walls, or outdoor areas - Disconnect and store outdoor hoses, and ensure exterior faucets are properly covered - Allow indoor faucets to drip slightly during extended freezing temperatures - Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate around plumbing - Maintain indoor temperatures at a consistent level, even if you are away 💡 Handy Tip: To help prevent frozen pipes, you may wrap exposed pipes or exterior spigots with pipe insulation. In a pinch, fabric (such as blanket strips) secured with duct tape can provide temporary protection. Be sure materials are dry and securely fastened.
Please see the attached information and thank you for your cooperation in helping protect your home and our community during this cold weather. Please stay warm and safe!
